Masterworks show at Artsource Gallery sponsored by Yamet Arts, Inc.
On September 26th Artsource Gallery kicked off its Masterworks show in Reno Nevada with Rick Yamet of Yamet Arts, Inc. on hand as the expert answering guest’s questions. As the evening progressed and the Opus One flowed many guests remarked upon the fine quality of the works on display. The conversation was lively and there were plenty of queries for Rick Yamet. One guest asked about the difference between an etching and a lithograph. Mr. Yamet explained that a litho is made from a stone while an etching is pulled from a metal plate. Another guest wanted to know if the number of a print made it more or less valuable. Rick Yamet replied that usually this was not the case because when prints are made they are not always numbered in the order that they are printed. Still another attendee wanted to know how you establish value on a particular work of art. Mr. Yamet answered that value is gauged by auction results around the world and gallery prices from different countries.Highlights from the show included Matisse’s “La Blouse Paysan”, Picasso’s “Arc-en-Ciel”, Renoir’s “La Danse a la Campagne” and Rembrandt’s “Return of the Prodigal Son”. Other artists represented are Dali, Chagall, Miro, Indiana, Lichtenstein and Warhol.
The show has been such a rousing success that Artsource and Yamet Arts, Inc. plan on extending it through October. Also, discussions are underway between Yamet Arts and Artsource to make this a yearly event.
