For the Love of Art: A Valentines’ Day Exhibition
Works by Modern and Contemporary Artists from the Hudson Valley

Celebrating 10 years in Peekskill, NY noted art dealer and collector Rick Yamet of Yamet Arts Inc. and the Peekskill Hat Factory will be hosting a major exhibition of some of the Hudson Valley's finest artists. A curatorial panel has selected artists from Mt. Vernon to Hudson that will be featured alongside Picasso, Lichtenstein and other iconic artists from Yamet's impressive collection.
Connecting the work of the masters with up and coming talent Yamet and his sponsors hope to highlight the diversity of talent and artistry that continue to thrive in New York's Hudson Valley. A 20% commission of sales will be donated to the Hudson Valley Museum for Contemporary Art.
There will be a public reception from on Sunday February 15, 2009 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., at Yamet Arts located at The Hat Factory in Suites 4 and 2E on 1000 N. Division Street in Peekskill.
The exhibition will run from February 14 - March 15, 2009. Gallery hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 12 - 4 p.m.
The artists will have their work featured on the Yamet Arts website and the option to be represented by the gallery for 6 months. Free admission to HVCCA with "For Love of Art" card.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Curatorial committee: Kenise Barnes (Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Larchmont, NY), Kara Lenkeit (Purchase College), William C. Maxwell (Maxwell Fine Arts, Peekskill, NY), Michael Anthony Natiello (Collaborative Concepts), Sara Pasti (Director, Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at New Paltz), and Tilly Strauss (Artist).

The Hat Factory is located at 1000 North Division Street in Peekskill, NY, providing business space and artist studios. The Hat Factory takes its name from the 1879 building in which it resides, continuing the tradition of artisan craftsmanship within these old brick walls which over the years have witnessed the creation of everything from fedoras to cast iron stoves. Working with artist tenants, owner Ben Green has hosted numerous art exhibitions in the building since 2007 including The Peekskill Project 2008, Collaborative Concepts at the Hat Factory and The Art Lot.
Collaborative Concepts is a not-for-profit arts organization based on the idea that professional artists working together can achieve artful accomplishments and provide the community with exceptional cultural experiences. Since its founding in 1999 in Beacon, New York, the organization has curated more than 40 exhibitions in galleries and outdoor settings in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art opened to the public in June 2004 and is located at 1701 Main Street in Peekskill NY.
