The suite El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz was published in 1969.  The frontispiece titled Trozo de Almibar was executed in 1939 but included in the set.  The portfolio contains a total of 13 etchings and poetry by the artist.  The prints depict fleshy women watched by a jealous cupid, a male who is ferocious and ready for violence, circus, family and theater scenes.  The title of the suite is taken from the painting by El Greco from 1586.  Picasso admired this work from his earliest youth and wanted to pay homage to the master artist.
